Northbound I-71/75 uses the lower deck -- Covington entrance
ramp visible at right.
This entrance ramp originally merged with through traffic
at this point. The lower
deck's emergency shoulder was eliminated in 1986, and this
ramp has since formed the
4th lane.

The I-71/75 split and U.S. 50 interchange is immediately
north of the bridge. Drivers often
do not realize they are in the wrong
lane until this point, and so the scene is often chaotic.
